Clenergy’s SolarTerrace Solutions Enables Mobile Communication Antenna on Remote Tasmanian Peak in Australia

PVTIME – Clenergy, renowned for its expertise in solar mounting solutions, proudly announces the successful installation of a state-of-the-art solar system on a challenging mountain peak in Tasmania, Australia. This innovative project features two fixed-tilt ground-mounted products—SolarTerrace II-A (STII-A) and SolarTerrace III-A (STIII-A) by PVezRack, the company’s flagship product line.

Owned by BAI Communications (BAI), a global leader in communications infrastructure, the standalone power system (SAPS) successfully powers a mobile communication antenna on Mount Owen, which stands over 1,000 meters above sea level. The location is known for its difficult accessibility and severe weather conditions, making this achievement particularly noteworthy.

“Designing and engineering a system that could withstand the extreme wind loads at this altitude was a significant challenge,” said Vince Mobilio, Vice President of Clenergy. “We are excited to see our robust and reliable systems being sought after for such demanding environments.”

Maximising Efficiency with STII-A
To navigate the narrow mountain tracks, Clenergy customised the single-post STII-A, integrating it with the Mega Anchor system. This modification eliminated the need for transporting large amounts of concrete up the mountain and allowed for the use of lighter machinery, optimising the installation process for efficiency.

Cost-Effective Solutions with STIII-A
The STIII-A was installed on existing footings, reducing installation costs and minimising the risks associated with transporting heavy equipment on the hazardous access road. This cost-effective approach was essential in overcoming the logistical challenges posed by the remote location.

The success of this project is the result of a collaborative effort between Photon Energy, a provider of renewable energy, clean water and environmental remediation solutions, RF Industries, and the Clenergy Engineering team. Their expertise ensured the SAPS was tailored to meet the unique requirements of this remote location.

“From the outset, this project required a racking provider that could offer a customised approach, complete with experienced engineering support to ensure a structurally sound, fit-for-purpose PV racking system. Clenergy excelled in all aspects, from the initial RFQ process to delivering a robust racking solution that met third-party structural certification standards,” remarked Mike Evans, Senior Project Manager of Photon Energy.

“Throughout the project, the Clenergy Engineering team was highly responsive, providing exceptional communication and support during every stage of delivery and installation. On behalf of Photon Energy Engineering Australia, we highly recommend Clenergy to anyone in need of high-quality products and top-notch engineering support. We’re proud to have played a part for BAI in helping to ensure the highest standards of performance and reliability of their sites can be achieved”

The system’s advanced design has been proven to deliver exceptional performance, even under extreme weather conditions. As of the publication date of this press release, the system had successfully withstood a severe storm with wind speeds of 141km/h in early September, demonstrating its resilience and reliability in harsh environments.

This successful installation highlights Clenergy’s technical expertise and commitment to innovation, establishing a new standard for renewable energy solutions in remote and challenging locations. The company is dedicated to advancing sustainable and resilient infrastructure, enabling vital communication and connectivity even in the most isolated areas.

Through initiatives like this, Clenergy is not just shaping the future of energy, but also connecting the world in unprecedented ways.
