DAS Solar Debuts Innovative Lightweight Modules at Japan New Product Launch Event

PVTIME – DAS Solar, a leader in N-type PV technology, successfully hosts the Japan New Product Launch and Customer Day event in Tokyo, where the company showcases its latest lightweight modules designed specifically for the Japanese market. The event sees the participation of key industry leaders, including DAS Solar’s Chairman and President Mr. Yong Liu, Denkosha’s President Mr. Nakajima, and Seika Corporation’s CEO Mr. Sakurai, among other distinguished guests and partners.

Japan’s land resources are relatively limited, and the rooftop market has gradually become a hot spot for solar investment. During the event, Mr. Ishihara, Director of Denkosha’s Sales Department, introduces the “flexible solar G+” initiative designed to offer solar solutions for rooftops with weight or shape constraints. Denkosha develops specialized installation methods for these unique structures, dedicated to promote safe and reliable systems lasting over 20 years. Mr. Takahashi, Head of Seika Corporation’s Sales Department, praises DAS Solar’s lightweight framed modules tailored for customers with limited load capacity. Already being installed in commercial projects, these modules are seen as a key solution for energy saving and emission reduction, contributing to Japan’s decarbonization goals.

In that context, DAS Solar’s new lightweight modules draw considerable attention from attendees. As Japan continues to prioritize rooftop solar projects to meet its carbon-neutral goals by 2050, the demand for lightweight, efficient modules is on the rise. DAS Solar’s lightweight series addresses these market needs by offering modules that are over 50% lighter than traditional models, making them ideal for rooftops with limited load-bearing capacity. For instance, the 475W half-cell lightweight framed module, with a weight of just 4.7kg/㎡, is 50% lighter while maintaining superior performance under demanding conditions, such as high humidity and temperature fluctuations. These modules also boast easy installation and high compatibility, making them suitable for a wide range of rooftops.

In addition, DAS Solar introduces a new 54-cell lightweight half-cell module weighing only 4.2kg/㎡, reducing the weight by over 70%. This design allows for one-person handling, making it highly efficient for rooftop installations. With a product warranty of 12 years and a power warranty of 25 years, these modules offer a reliable, long-term solution for Japanese customers.

DAS Solar’s journey in Japan reflects the company’s steady global growth since its founding in 2018. Japan, being one of the pioneers in renewable energy adoption, holds significant importance for DAS Solar. As part of its global expansion strategy, Japan is one of the first countries where the company establishes a localized presence. By setting up a local subsidiary and tailoring products to the Japanese market, DAS Solar has built a comprehensive localized sales and service network to provide timely and close-knit support in terms of products, technology, and logistics. Moving forward, DAS Solar will continue to strengthen its presence in the Japanese market with a customer-centric approach. By partnering with local partners like Denkosha and Seika, the company is committed to exploring more possibilities in commercial, industrial, and residential sectors, as part of its mission to offer more energy options and transform the local energy landscape.

DAS Solar’s participation in Japan’s clean transition reflects its broader commitment to innovation, sustainability, and global carbon neutrality. Through collaboration and cutting-edge technology, the company is set to optimize all-scenario solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers and contribute to joint efforts to combat climate change worldwide.
