PVTIME – Recently, Bosswerk GmbH & Co. KG, a leading German provider of residential solar power and energy storage solutions, has become insolvent due to a difficult market and declining sales.
Bosswerk was founded in 2006 in North Rhine-Westphalia and was mainly engaged in selling solar system products from other manufacturers. Its webshop GreenAkku was launched in 2010 and was estimated to sell half a million solar systems, including panels, inverters, energy storage and related technology, for balconies and rooftops. In 2021, the company achieved a turnover of €37.2 million and an operating result (EBIT) of €4.3 million, with no recent financial results disclosed.
At the beginning of July 2024, Bosswerk was forced to file for insolvency with the Krefeld Local Court and a provisional insolvency administrator was appointed to oversee its restructuring. Restructuring measures have already been initiated to help Bosswerk achieve financial stability and a viable solution for the future.
Despite the filing for bankruptcy, Bosswerk’s operations, including the Crefeld branch, will continue. The wages of the approximately 100 employees are secured for three months by the insolvency benefit.
