Groundbreaking Ceremony for UK Minety Battery Storage Project II Held in Virtual With Chinese Companies

PVTIME – Recently, the Groundbreaking Ceremony of UK Minety Battery Storage Project II were held in virtual. The Minety Battery Energy Storage System is located in Minety, Wiltshire, England, UK. The project was held and developed by China Huaneng Group Co. Ltd., it was invested by China Huaneng and CNIC, and China Huaneng took charge of its construction and operation. The phase II of the Minety project has a designed installed capacity of 49.9MW and an energy storage capacity of 99.8MWh.

The main equipment of the project was manufactured and integrated by Chinese companies, and more than 80% of equipment was made in China. CHINT Group was invited to attend to ceremony as well. In phase I of the Minety project, CHINT Group has provided a complete set of inverters, which won the trust and recognition. In phase II, CHINT will play an important role with its high-quality products and professional services.

Minety Battery Storage Project is the largest battery energy storage project in Europe. Upon completion, this project could effectively enhance the safety and security of the power grid by reducing grid fluctuations caused by renewable energy, improving the flexibility and stability of the grid, as well as providing emergency power support when accidents occurred in the main grid.
