Hanwha Solar’s new and improved module offerings provide greater options for residential, utility and commercial segments
Hanwha Solar, a global provider of total photovoltaic (PV) solar solutions and a flagship company of top-10 Korean business enterprise Hanwha Group, is launching an expanded portfolio of products and services at this year’s Intersolar Europe. This includes improvements to its Professional Line and two new application-specific modules—HSL60 Mono equipped with Solrif and HSL 60 Poly Smart featuring a DC/DC optimizer—as well as the pre-launch of its new High Performance Line designed for the rooftop and small commercial segments.
“Premium quality and technical leadership are essential elements of Hanwha Solar’s business strategy,” said Charles Kim, president of Hanwha Solar. “The introduction of these new modules, which are backed by an industry leading 25-year linear performance and 12-year workmanship warranty, provides our customers access to even more high-quality products that deliver the results they demand. With a wide range of options and services and the strong financial backing of the FORTUNE- 500 Hanwha Group, Hanwha Solar provides reliable and optimized solar solutions to its partners and customers.”
Andreas Liebheit, vice president and managing director of Hanwha SolarOne added, “Hanwha Solar is continuously investing in our product portfolio to meet the needs of our customers and partners in all segments. In addition to innovative products, Hanwha Solar is also focused on expanding its value-added services, such as financing and co-development, and is looking into new avenues of cooperation.”
High Performance Line for the rooftop segment
The High Performance Line features top quality modules with 6’’ mono-crystalline cells designed for maximized yield where space is limited. Available in two sizes—48 cells and 60 cells—the mono modules are available in power classes up to 215W and 260W, respectively. Targeting house-owners concerned with aesthetics, the Hanwha Solar portfolio includes a Black Diamond version of the mono modules that features a black backsheet and frame. The new mono modules will be launched in the European market in the beginning of the third quarter of 2012.
Improved performance for the Professional Line
Further improving customer value, Hanwha Solar has enhanced the efficiency of its existing poly modules SF 220 and SF 260. The newly improved modules are now available in power classes of up to 300W, and are designed for long-term performance and rough conditions. Hanwha Solar’s 72-cell poly module SF260 was among the first in the industry to pass the rigorous TÜV Rheinland Long-Term Sequential Test even before this most recent performance update.
Tailored solutions to meet customer needs
Hanwha Solar will also showcase two new application-specific modules at the exhibition. The HSL60 Mono, equipped with Solrif, offers a PV in-roof installation system designed to replace conventional roof tiles. The system is flexible, suitable for both new buildings and retrofitting, and can either
partially or completely cover roofs. The new HSL 60 Poly Smart Module, designed for the residential and commercial segments, comes with an integrated test winning* DC/DC optimizer for improved overall system performance. The optimizer dynamically identifies the maximum operating state for each panel and maintains system stability during cloud cover or shading, ensuring additional peak system up-time. Both modules will be introduced to the European market in the second half of 2012.
