HY Solar Rolls Off TOPCon Module from Its 16GW Production Line in Jiangyin Base

PVTIME – On 2nd August 2023, HOYUAN Green Energy Co., Ltd. (HY Solar), a high-tech company mainly engaged in high-end intelligent equipment manufacturing and PV crystalline silicon product supply, rolled off its first n-type TOPCon solar module from Phase I of 16GW PV module production base in Jiangyin City, Wuxi Province of China.

This project started in 2022 and involves two stages comprising 20 fully automated production lines distributed across three workshops. The first stage was focused on achieving a production capacity of 16 gigawatts of n-type TOPCon solar modules, which required a 5 billion yuan investment.

The initial HY Solar module to roll off the production line is the HT series, a large-sized, double-sided, double-glazed module with n-type TOPCon 182 cells in 72-plate. The product employs SMBB stacked half-chip technology, non-destructive cutting technology and high-density encapsulation technology. These technologies optimize the layout design by reducing the pitch of the cells and increasing the effective area of power generation.

The module delivers outstanding performance, exhibiting a higher double-sided rate, lower temperature coefficient and improved low-light performance. This module can deliver up to 585W of power with an efficiency rating of 22.64%, surpassing industry standards for this module type. This module finds utility in large-scale power station projects as well as a wide range of “PV+” scenarios, enabling higher power generation and lower levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) on the system side, thus meeting market demand for high-efficiency and high-power modules.

In HY Solar’s Production Base, 94% of the processes in the production lines have been fully automated. These processes are designed for safety, stability, automation, intelligence, high efficiency, low consumption, among other factors. Additionally, the lines can switch between different board types with a single key, providing the advantages of high stability, automation, output, and cost savings.
