PVTIME – On 24 August 2023, JinkoSolar, one of the world’s largest and most innovative solar module manufacturers, has announced that it has supplied 25 sets of liquid cooling C&I energy storage systems, the JKS-215KLAA-100PLAA, to Xiaodong Renewable Energy Co. Ltd. with a total capacity of 5.375 MWh in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, China.
JinkoSolar’s SunGiga ESS (liquid cooling storage system) sets aid in grid stability by utilizing renewable energy in five industrial parks. These 5.375 MWh units play a crucial role in peak shaving and valley filling as the high cost of electricity during peak periods in Guangdong Province incurs significant expenses for local enterprises. Additionally, JinkoSolar’s SunGiga C&I ESS is a portfolio comprising lithium-ion batteries, a power conversion system (PCS), an energy management system (EMS), and a fire suppression system (FSS), designed for two- to four-hour applications, with battery capacities ranging from 200kWh to 2MWh. The solution simplifies transportation, installation, and operation and maintenance (O&M) with low costs.
SunGiga, the new generation liquid cooling C&I ESS, follows the design philosophy of “Safety, Smart and Easy”. Advanced technologies have helped create an advanced liquid cooling battery system, which enables precise temperature control. The temperature difference between cells is no greater than 2°C, and this extends the lifetime of batteries and improves charging and discharging efficiency considerably. The system has an all-round comprehensive safety design, from the cell to system level.” AI-assisted technology monitors cell status and calculates potential risks in real-time. It also includes early-stage warning systems to prevent thermal runaway. The monitoring and controlling mechanisms have five layers to identify any abnormalities. Additionally, this product is equipped with a perfluoro fire protection system, ensuring safety in multiple areas.
