PVTIME – On November 15, 2020, Mr. Lin Jianwei, Chairman of Jolywood Group was invited to the high-level dialogue session of the fifth China Photovoltaic Industry Forum (CPIF) to share his opinions as an industry insider on the remarkable presence of photovoltaics in China’s 14th Five-Year Plan.
CPIF High-level Dialogue
According to Chairman Lin, the next ten years before the arrival of carbon emissions peak will be the “golden decade” of photovoltaics, and a decade of high-quality, high-speed and high-level development. The photovoltaic industry chain must take the road paved by “high efficiency, precision manufacturing, cutting-edge equipment and integrated solution”.
Chairman Lin Speaks at CPIF
High Efficiency: The industry should migrate from emphasizing “high conversion efficiency, high reliability” to pursuing “full life cycle, high power generation efficiency and low LCOE”. The efficiency of J-TOPCon cells developed by Jolywood has continued to improve, and the transparent backsheet of Jolywood enables a module to yield more than 0.6% electricity than a double-glass module. These are Jolywood’s contribution to the efficiency improvement of the industry.
Precision Manufacturing: The industry should realize that the goal of “smart manufacturing, unattended factory” can only be achieved with precision manufacturing implemented in every manufacturing link.
Cutting-edge Equipment: In order to continue to take the lead, the industry must increase investment in the research and development of cutting-edge equipment, and expand advantages, especially precision string welder for modules, screen printer for cells, square cutter for wafers, realizing micron-level precision controllable. The vacuum plating equipment for cells should be sub-nanometer controllable. The plating equipment of some domestic technical equipment enterprises can achieve a controllable film thickness of ±0.1nm. Jolywood has taken the lead in applying it to J-TOPCon cells, and supported the localization of cutting-edge equipment. For example, the wafer size precision is ±500 microns, which has a great impact on the downstream cell and module links. If the wafer manufacturer raises two exponential levels to control it at the micron level, the cost of the module end can be reduced by more than 2%. Therefore, the manufacturing of cutting-edge equipment still requires concerted efforts.
Integrated Solution: In the construction of photovoltaic power stations, there is a trend developing from split purchasing of equipment and materials to integrated one-stop delivery, and there will be more and more customer demand for guaranteed energy yield, delivery time and total cost control.
Jolywood, as an integrator of advanced photovoltaic materials, high-efficiency cell technologies and new energy applications, will seize the opportunity of the times, actively upgrade technology, deepen industry cooperation, echo with President Xi’s call for “carbon neutrality” by 2050, and contribute to the development of the photovoltaic industry.
