PVTIME – On the evening of February 25, LONGi released its silicon wafer guidance for the month of March. Affected by the price increase of polysilicon raw materials, wafer prices across all sizes will increase significantly.
The price of G1 and M6 (170μm) monocrystalline silicon wafers will both increase by 0.3 yuan/piece to 3.55 yuan/piece and 3.65 yuan/piece, respectively. The price of M10 (1750μm) monocrystalline silicon wafers will increase by 0.39 yuan/piece to 4.44 yuan /piece.

According to information released by the China Silicon Industry Association, the price of various types of polycrystalline materials increased by 8-11% this week. The association said that after the Spring Festival, the activity of upstream and downstream polysilicon enterprises has been significantly higher than that of the same period last year. Multiple new orders for March have been signed by polycrystalline producers while others are fulfilling existing orders with no room to sign more deals. However, due the Spring Festival holiday, the number of production days in February was reduced and a short term shortage in supply has been created. This imbalance in supply and demand will likely continue to support this week’s sharp price increases.
