Sungrow Wins Enterprise for Best Practices in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in 2021 Awarded by UNGC

PVTIME – The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Network China unveiled the list of Enterprises for Best Practices in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2021. Sungrow was shortlisted given its outstanding practices in catalyzing global carbon neutrality.

Offering access to affordable and reliable energy

Sungrow is the world’s leading renewable energy solution supplier with a 25-year track record, dedicated to zero-carbon footprints globally with over 224 GW of installations, generating 315,200 GWh of clean electricity per year, equivalent to eliminating 252 million of carbon dioxide. With the world’s largest R&D team, Sungrow strives to make solar energy more affordable and reliable to an increasing number of facilities and communities.

Responsible production and consumption

Multiple activities have been done by Sungrow to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. As a dedicated member of the international RE100 and EP100 initiatives, Sungrow pledged to source 100% renewable energy for global manufacturing and operations, and increase its energy productivity by over 35% with 2018 considered the base year.

The Company has the world’s largest inverter manufacturing base with an annual production capacity of 140 GW. As one of China’s Green Factories, the factory is installed with solar rooftop plants, switching to adopt more clean energy in daily manufacturing. In 2021, over 35% of the Company’s energy consumption relies on clean energy, and the proportion is expected to be larger in 2022 and beyond.

In addition, Sungrow pioneers technical innovations and strives to achieve environmental sustainability throughout the full life span of its products, as a result from designing, manufacturing, warehousing, transporting to operating and recycling; thus unlocking deeper energy efficiency.

Decarbonization also defines daily climate actions. For instance, carbon dioxide is cut down through dozens of electric buses arranged as commuting shuttles for thousands of Sungrow employees.

Being a member of UNGC, Sungrow always aligns with the UN 17 SDGs and is poised to leverage its comprehensive strengths to pave the way toward a net-zero carbon future together with its global partners.
