The First TOPCon Rolled Off by Sany in Its 5GW Zhuzhou Base China

PVTIME – On 17 October 2023, the first piece of n-type TOPCon cell was rolled off the Zhuzhou base of Sany Silicon Energy, a subsidiary of Sany Group, the energy giant in China.

This particular project is located in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, China, with a total investment of 3 billion yuan. It aims to produce 5GW of n-type TOPCon every year, with an annual output value of around 5 billion once it is fully operational. The n-type TOPCon cell produced by Sany’s Zhuzhou base is designed with a conversion efficiency of more than 25.5% in mass production, and the power of 72-piece module reaches 580-585W, with many advantages such as high power, high efficiency, high reliability and low LCOE, to bring high value and profit to customers.

The new project is the final part of Sany’s plan for integrated design of solar power products. The Sany Group started its photovoltaic business in 2022. In November that year, Sany Silicon Energy, a subsidiary of Sany Group, produced its first batch of monocrystalline silicon rods. In December 2022, Sany Silicon Energy achieved a significant breakthrough in PV industry production by launching PV module products from its integrated manufacturing base.
