PVTIME – On 25 December 2024, Tongwei Solar, a global leader in the photovoltaic industry, announced two significant achievements concerning its TOPCon solar modules. These modules have set new records for power and conversion efficiency.
Specifically, Tongwei Solar attained a conversion efficiency of 24.58% in its solar module, characterised by standard dimensions of 2384*1303mm, yielding a power output of 763.4 watts on the front side of the G12-66 TNC module. These assertions were substantiated through rigorous testing conducted by TÜV, a globally recognised certification institution. The company asserts that the output power of this module is approximately 40 watts higher than the power of the same version of the module in the market.
Furthermore, the frontal power of Tongwei Solar’s G12R-66 TNC module reaches 663.5 watts, which is approximately 40 watts higher than the power of the same module in the market, with a conversion efficiency of 24.56% on this module with a standard size of 2382*1134mm.
TOPCon technology is one of Tongwei Solar’s core competencies, and the company has achieved significant breakthroughs and leadership in TOPCon cell manufacturing, leveraging technological innovations such as tubular PECVD poly deposition, poly finger, EPT passivation and fine line printing. The PECVD technology developed by Tongwei Solar has filled a significant gap in the industry. According to InfoLink Consulting, as of Q4 2024, PECVD technology held a 56% market share of the 852GW solar cell production capacity.
