PVTIME – On September 16, Tongxing Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. (Tongxing Technology)(003027.SZ) and the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) signed a Cooperation Agreement in Hefei City to jointly build a lab for the research and development of energy storage technology and materials.
The two sides will focus on sodium-ion battery research, which is the first step for Tongxing Technology to start its energy storage business. And for USTC, The key material of sodium-ion battery researched by Professor Yu Yan’s research group is one of the first key achievement transformation projects of the Carbon Neutrality Research Institute of USTC. The new partnership is expected to pave the way for the sodium-ion battery technology from the lab to factory and to the renewable energy industry, and promote the alternative energy technology with effective and safe energy storage, then fulfill the dual-carbon goals in China as well as the low-carbon goal in the world.
