PVTIME – Recently, Trina Solar Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Trina Solar”) and China Petrochemical Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “Sinopec”) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in Beijing.
The agreement stipulates that the two parties will focus on the national “2030/2060” dual-carbon goal, utilize their complementary advantages, and carry out in-depth cooperation to promote the high-quality development of new energy.
The two will work together in areas including the zero-carbon energy transformation of gas stations, hydrogen production from green electricity, photovoltaic material supply, and research and development, etc.
Before the signing ceremony, Zhang Yuzhuo, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of Sinopec, together with other leaders of the group company, met with Trina Solar’s Chairman Gao Jifan and his party and had discussions and exchanges. Zhang Yuzhuo said that photovoltaic power generations’ role is of great significance to Sinopec’s carbon peak and carbon neutrality. He hopes that both parties will achieve deep integration, break through technical bottlenecks and mechanism barriers, promote the implementation of new photovoltaic materials, reduce photovoltaic power generation costs, and reduce carbon emissions for the country.
According to the agreement, the two parties will rely on Sinopec’s gas station resources to complement distributed photovoltaics, photovoltaics + charging piles, and integrated solar storage and charging solutions based on local conditions, and rely on Trina Solar’s resources to build a cross-regional, widely distributed, and multi-energy collaborative smart energy service platform to assist the clean energy transition.
In the field of distributed photovoltaic power generation for gas stations, Sinopec and Trina Solar have already jointly constructed the Jiaze gas station photovoltaic project in Changzhou. The Jiaze project was officially put into operation at the end of May this year and is China’s first gas station to achieve carbon neutrality, which has a symbolic significance in the industry.
