US Metal Fabricator Fabral Enters PV Business with New Solar Mounting Factory

PVTIME – Fabral, a US-based manufacturer of metal materials, has announced its foray into the solar industry. The company has set up a new factory that will produce steel solar mounts for photovoltaic (PV) modules.

Following US President Trump’s announcement of a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminium imports into the US, Fabral has become the latest addition to the ranks of US steel manufacturers supplying mounts and steel to the US PV industry.

John Cummings, Fabral’s CEO, said the company’s new division, Fabral Solar, will be a one-stop solution for all solar mounting needs. To demonstrate its investment in the new division, the company said it will install solar panels on its existing facilities and properties.

After more than 50 years of providing solutions to the metal construction industry, Fabral is significantly expanding its business scope into the solar industry, using Fabral’s knowledge and experience in the construction field to produce steel frames and mounting products for solar modules.

This move by Fabral not only capitalises on the growing demand for solar energy in the US, but also takes advantage of the domestic manufacturing incentives created by the tariff policy. As the solar industry continues to expand, Fabral’s entry could potentially change the dynamics of the supply chain by providing a local source for critical components in PV installations.
